And let me tell you, this was an AWESOME giveaway to win!! I was like a kid opening up my presents on Christmas morning when I received this HUGE package of goodies! I found about the giveaway on Facebook with Ah! How Sweet Photography being the host. There are so many wonderful vendors and prizes I'm going to post pictures with every item along with the makers. There is just so many!!! YAY!! Tons of time, love and care has been taken with the making of each of these items.

It's scented in Mango Margarita and smells AMAZING! And it's huge!! LOVE it!

Now how cute is this!? Renata at DarnFanciful donated this beautiful Newborn baby Egg Pod.

You have to check out her shop! She makes newborn photo props such as egg pods, cacoons, hats, papooses & blankets. A lot of love goes into these items. And they are adorable =)

I am happy to announce that The Clack House is open for business (again)..lol Vacation mode is off and were ready to dive back in! I have been back to browsing the forums again and WOW, things sure have changed. Not too happy with the new look of the forums. Not as lively as it once was. =(

But on a good note, I finished listing some items late last night and to my surprise I woke up to 6 sales! Woo Hoo! Hope everyday will be this good! Its' been a while since I've blogged. The last 6 months has been pretty rough. Due to the high cost of supplies I haven't been able re-open my Etsy shop as planned. I was so excited when I saw a package peeking out from the mailbox this morning!

It was my package from Renee Lillie, owner of TubTimeTreasures!

All I could say is WOW!

The box was jam packed full of sweet & yummy treats for the tub! She is such an incredible soap artist and her scents are AMAZING! All the items are so wonderful it's really hard to pick a fav!

Here is a snapshot of all the goodies that came!

This has got to be the best sugar scrub I have EVER used! It left my hands feeling soft, clean and refreshed. I also love how the scrub comes in cubes. Makes it so much easier to use and trust me, ONE goes a long way! They looked so juicy and smelled so good my Hubby almost took a bite!!

I haven't used this yet, but I did open it up to take a good whiff..lol It smells JUST like a yummy Chocolate Cupcake! It arrived in mint condition and I can't wait to try it out! The frosting on top looks so real!

I used a little this afternoon on my hands after I worked in the garden. hehe, I really can't wait to even take a shower or bath! It also left my hands smooth and soft. The Pomegranate Cider smells divine and

I have never even used a lip scrub until today. WOW! What a sweet treat for your lips!
I felt like I was at a spa!

"Honey" Lip Gloss

"Vanilla Buttercream" Lip Butter

I really enjoyed getting these in my goody box. I love Love LOVE lip gloss and lip butters! The honey smells identical to honey and the vanilla buttercream lip butter smells good enough to eat!

Both are smooth to the lips, not too greasy or sticky.

I started getting interested in soaping when I lost my job last year. I was in an Etsy chat room, when someone posted a cupcake bath bomb. They were SO cute, I IMMEDIATELY searched for a recipe and bought what I needed to make them! Over time I've tweaked my recipe, and have found some soaping blogs online that I follow, and have accumulated other recipes. The Solid Sugar Scrub cubes are some of my favorites to make (and use!)! The lip scrubs, butters and glosses are fun too! There's just so much versatility in bath and body products, and SO many different yummy fragrance combinations, that it's easy to stay excited with what you're making!!

Ok, so I have already posted about this wonderful Etsy seller before, but I just HAD to post about her again after receiving yet another wonderful sheet of labels I had purchased! I contacted Autumn Leah over at Autumn Leah Designs a few weeks ago on creating a custom sheet of baby shower theme labels to use on custom baby food jar candles I was making for my BFF to use on the tables for decor at her baby shower. They were such a HUGE hit! Everyone just adored the little candles! YAY!! I also made other candles for the shower to give away for the game prizes. Autumn Leah is simply the most fantastic Etsy seller I have come across so far! She makes such lovely designs and has top-notch Customer service!!

How to save a life

Sorry guys for not posting in a while. For the last 2-3 weeks I've been taking care of our canine family member Spunky. He is a full blooded Bull Mastiff Pitt. And a big one at that! One Saturday, my hubby was outside working on one of his cars (as usual) and I come out to bring him something to drink. Our neighbors were out grilling and one of them yelled across the yard "Chasity, Your dog is bleeding". I called him out from under the house and didn't think to much of it at first since he's gotten in oil and such before in the back yard. When he come up to me I just about past out. He had a massive chest would that was about 6" long and 3" wide. He was bleeding out everywhere. Of coarse, I started going into panic mode screaming for my Husband to come. This is what really upset me...since it was Saturday we only have one local (expensive) vet that takes emergency calls. The same vet in which I've been taking our Pomeranian I got this past Christmas to see. When we called they told my husband that they couldn't take him in because he was not a client! What? Not a client? Are you joking??!!! Lucky for us, my Husband works for the man who's Daughter runs the vet. So yeah, I called them! I totally went there. They told me not to worry about anything, to put my dog in the van and there will be someone up there waiting when I got there. And sure enough, there was three women waiting. Not too happy to see me, but they were there. We consider our animals like they are family. I will go to no end to save them.

Here is Spunk Chunk (as I like to call him) resting in our laundry room after surgery.

We still don't know exactly what happened to him or what he got into. The vet said he looks as if he tried to jump over a fence or it could have been a wild hog considering our location of where we live.

He is a real trooper. He never whined or acted like it bothered him!

She said that if we wouldn't have taken him up there, he would have died by morning.

He's my big Goof Ball..lol But I love him!

quick & easy way to make a Etsy banner

In case you missed the Etsy forum thread today a super nice Etsy shop owner shared her easy peasy way of making a shop banner!

Here is what I made:

I'll probably play around with it some more when I have time, but this will do for now. I always wondered how to make one esp if you don't have a photo editing program like photoshop, or not really computer savvy(like me) this is the easiest way I have found so far.

The Site is called Big Huge Labs.

Once you are on the site click on "Mosaic Maker". You can register for an account, but I just signed in under my facebook account to pull pictures. I then set it to 7 Columns 3 Rows. You can also adjust the background & border colors. Then all you have to do is click on "choose a photo"

Once you have finished picking out 7 photos, click on create and it will take you to a page where you can save or edit it some more. I added "The Clack House" to a white photo using Picnik.com

And there you have it! Easy Peasy!

I'm trying not to list EVERYTHING new I come up with, but I really love how these turned out. I come up with the idea after going grocery shopping with my 2 year old. Of coarse, as usual when we headed down the frozen food isle, he starts doing the hand out motion and saying "cream, mama I want cream"..He can't say his "s"'s yet. lol So I picked up a tub of Neapolitan. We have 5 boys and lucky for me thats always a winner. When I got home and opened it up to make him a bowl I thought "what cute candles that would be!"

This actually was supposed to be a "Feature Friday" but to be honest with you I slacked a little and forgot to line up a seller to feature! lol..My mind stay so busy and I actually did email a wonderful seller of the CUTEST baby items bit I have yet to hear back. So...I'm making this FREAKY FRIDAY and feature myself! Yeah, I know..kinda shameless promotion, but oh well.
I thought this was too hilarious! Here's why.....

I was checking my Heartomatic a lil bit ago and found out this bad boy has been featured in the Gift Guides! YAY! But wait, which one? The GAG GIFT GUIDE! Why you ask? Seems like a harmless little jar candle right? Wrong..this is why...

A few months ago this Cinnamon Bun Jar candle was featured on Regretsy's facebook page. I added this new title to the listing to poke fun at myself which reads: Apparently they say the lil' stinker...lol looks as if it has a turd in the jar. Wondered why the darn thing kept getting so many views! I assure you that it does NOT smell like poo poo, doo doo, stinky, dookie, or diarrhea (as per comments left by facebook users..lol) It would make a great gift for ex mother-in-laws, annoying co-workers, an uninvited neighbor or even the dirty old man who lives next door.*****

So, I made this my freaky Friday feature because I
FINALLY into a gift guide, but it just had to the GAG GUIDE! lol

Hearts For Haiti

WOW, is all I really can say! Hearts For Haiti shop started on January 14, 2010 and has already made 565 sales (donations) and counting! They have currently raised (after fees): $6369.66!! I think it is awesome what they are doing. I donated some cupcake tarts, the same as the tarts for my blog giveaway, for the cause last night and I got a message this morning saying they already sold! YAY! It's not much and I wish I could do more and I may donate again, but even that little bit makes me feel good. =) The items in the shops are flying off the shelves so I know the admin over the shop has their handful! One of the shop leaders is Nora from transienttreasures. It is devastating what has happened. And just this morning when I logged in I saw this in Yahoo news..another devastating blow. =( New 6.1-quake hits Haiti. I'm at a loss. So, I guess the point of this blog post is to give a shot out to Hearts For Haiti. And to thank all the people that are devoting their time to the shop to keep it running. Every little bit helps..THANK YOU!!

I'm super excited this morning to let all my sweet friends know that The Clack House is going through a major makeover! When I first started about 4 years ago everything I done was geared toward the Primitive style of things. Needless did I know that I had pretty much already "branded" my shop and items. Don't get me wrong I still love prim and will be incorporating both in my Etsy shop..hehe But the little girl inside of me that is still in love with bows, ribbons, polkadots, tutus and ANYTHING pink woke up about 2 weeks ago and said "hey, I'm still in here!" So, it's been a VERY long couple of weeks. LOL. I've redesigned my packaging labels, ordered tons of pink and polka-dotted ribbon, changed our Myspace page, Twitter and now our blog! I just loved how it turned out! I grabbed this template over at Delicious Design Studio (after staying up til midnight) switching out templates from various sites. I found this site too that I think you may want to check out ~ Template Mama. She has made a great list with wonderful blog designers. I adjusted the header that came with this template on Picnik.com! Easy peasy..I really like the clean lines of this one. I'm still a little nervous about what my loyal customers will think, after all..it is all about your customers! But after posting my concerns of the "big change" in the Etsy forums, they made me feel a lot better! Anyway, sorry for rambling on..I'm just so excited!

Oh my, I have been soooo busy the past few weeks! We have 5 boys at home and between taking care of them and preparing for candle season I have been seriously running around ragged! I wanted to share some of the new candles I created just today! The first one is Our new Holiday Christmas Cupcake Candle. This one is scented in yummy "Frosted Christmas Cookies".
Next one is one of my favorites. I decided to call it "Peek-a-boo Santa" Christmas Candle because when you open the lid a lil' paper Santa peeks out at you! It is so adorable!
This one is also scented in Frosted Christmas Cookies, but it can be changed to whatever scent you would like. I'll be working hard this week on new candles and tarts. I have a whole bunch of new scents coming in just in time for Christmas! Have a great week everyone!

Alright guys, I know I've been slacking on my blog lately. With 5 boys and a few scares of the swine flu, it's been a couple hectic months! Last year I used to do a monthly feature including some of my most favorite Etsy sellers and their products. I love selling on Etsy, but the most fun part is all the buying! I find it so fascinating how each item I have ever received from Etsy has been wonderful and you can really tell just how much detail and care that are put into each product.

This month I want to feature Ophelia over at opheliasapothecary. I recently purchased a Perfume and Fragrance Sampler "Try before you buy". I have never purchased handmade perfume before so I figured since the price was sooooo great I really couldn't pass it up! I ordered two and was able to choose the scents! I chose Ralph Lauren Romance & Apple Orchard.
I was so excited when it came in the mail. I opened the package and OMG..you would not believe the packaging! That in it's self I think was the most well done packaging I have received so far since buying on Etsy! The scents come in great sample size bottles with cute tags marked for scent. (she also threw in a x-tra scent) hehe, it's called Starry Night. Oh my, they all smell so so good! I'm normally very picky when it comes to scents. But these smell AWESOME!! I think my favorite (if I HAD to choose) would be the one she threw in for free...Starry Night! They also all came in an attractive silver tin to keep them all together and to top it all off she included a handwritten note thanking me for my purchase. This seller is a true class act and takes pride in each & every item that she sells. I'm definatly going back for more!

The Interview:

Tell us more about you name, location ect.
*I moved to kansas city about 10 years ago for my career, and ended up staying!

How did you first hear about Etsy?
*I think I heard about it when shopping one day. Someone asked me if I had and Etsy store....and I said 'no, but maybe i need one!'

What is the meaning behind your shop name?
*I totally fell in love with the name in high school when reading the play, Hamlet, in my english class. I decided back then, that if I had an alter ego, 'Ophelia' would be her name.

What inspires you?
*mainly greek mythology and Shakespeare. ...oh, and music. I can get lost in creating fragrances and blending oils. I get in this zone, and hours can pass before i realize how long i've been in my studio!

Aside from creating things, What do you do?
*play with my miniature doxies, watch old movies, and clean.....I'm alittle OCD! lol.

What advice would you give to artists who are new to Etsy?
*take beautiful pictures, set your standards early for your shop {even before your first sale}, and never~ever fall below your standards...set goals for yourself....you are the only one that can hold yourself accountable! Know what your niche is....brand yourself, and do it well. Two major Don'ts: don't go to the forums and complain about lack of sales....this time would be better well spent working on things you can control....photos, descriptions, branding, or building positive business partnerships. and the second don't....don't try to sell your product by putting down other sellers or competitors. sell on your product features and benefits...know your product and business well. Discrediting others and their practices makes you look bad.

How do you promote?
*I actually don't....I try to be helpful in the forums and I renew often. But, my number one, best advice for selling.....is to list something new every day. When I'm in the zone, and get something new listed regularly...sales seem to follow!

Ten years from now you would like to be?
*healthy, happy, and in love. I have some pretty major medical issues so ten years would be a gift in and of itself!

Sorry guys! I haven't been keeping up with my blog! We have 5 boys at home, two of which had a scare of the Swine flu! But, everyone is fine and business is back up as usual! Were in the process of adding fall scents to our Etsy shop. I'm really excited about our new 8 oz Mason Jar Candles First up is our Yummy Homemade Pumpkin Pie 8 oz Mason Jar Candle including FREE SHIPPING!
The aroma of pureed pumpkin with hints of vanilla sprinkled with spices of ginger and cinnamon. Baked to perfection in the crispiest of crusts. A holiday tradition!

All handmade using as much fragrance oil the wax will allow! Total weight including jar is 13 oz. Due to the handmade nature no two candles are alike.

Each jar candle is double layered (autumn orange & white) and topped with a prim barn star embed. I have distressed and hand painted the lids to give them a more primitive look & tied it off with a gingham ribbon.

Next up is our Yummy Maple and Brown Sugar 8 oz Mason Jar Candle
The rich, sweet smell of maple syrup, sugar and cane molasses. A cozy and warm fragrance. A holiday tradition!

Hey blogger world! I haven't blogged in awile...haha, my 5 boys are all out of school for the summer and driving me MAD!! Anyone out here know of any good summer camps in Georgia? LOL We spent our 4th of July with family & friends. It was a blast! I've already started gearing up for the fall. From previous experience selling online, sales usually double in the time period! I do NOT want to caught un-prepared! haha, last year I was running around looking like a chicken with my head AND wings cut off! New items will be out soon. Spoonable tarts and lollipop tarts are first on the creation to-do list. I'll post pics as soon as they are finished! Goodnight!

Hey everyone!! I have been on Lollishops for about a month now with no luck. About a week ago I checked my email and had my very 1st sale! YAY! Whats more exciting is the email I received this morning from the very pleased buyer!! These are my newest creations. I just love how they turned out! These cuties are sold as a (set of two). First up is my Grubby Frosted Birthday Cake Votive Candles. All handmade using as much fragrance the wax will allow! Due to the handmade nature no two candles are alike. Each votive is topped with loads of gooey buttercream icing and real sprinkles! Like a regular pillar candle, these must be burned on an appropriate heat safe candle plate. Trim wick before burning.

Next up is my Grubby Cinnamon Bun Votive Candles. Each votive has real cinnamon baked in the base and is topped with loads of gooey buttercream icing and a cinnamon bun embed.

I've been so busy making tarts I haven't had a chance to blog! Which is one of my favorite pastimes lately..LOL I wanted to share with you some of my newest creations. Hi! Everyone! I absolutely love Christmas & I'm sad to see it go, but now..back to business as usual! I got a new digital cam and new computer for Christmas! Woohoo! Soo happy about that! I wanted to share a picture of an vintage owl I found while helping my husband tear down an old house. We tear them down for the heart pine wood to use in our cabinet shop where we live. I saved the little cutie from being crushed or trashed, took him home & tried my hand at antique washing. I think that he is adorable! He has a opening in the back and can hold a standard votive or even a tea light candle. I used grey/blue & antique white paint. What do you think?

These cuties are flying off the shelves! I wanted to share these little Cinnamon Buns in my blog. They are all handmade using as much fragrance oil as the wax will allow. Due to the handmade nature no two tarts are alike. I place a quarter in the pic so you can get an idea of their size. I sell these in sets of 25 buns. These tarts are SUPER cute & SUPER strong! Smells just like fresh baked Cinnamon Buns right outta the oven! Each tart has real cinnamon baked right in, then drizzled with gooey butter cream icing..Mmmmm!

If you see any listing your interested in but don't care for the scent that it is described, I can make it to your liking in any scent I have available.
